3 Ideas from me
I. “Even though others may forget you, I will not forget you. Your name is written in the palm of my hand.”
-Isaiah 49:14
You matter to God.
II. Thinking creatively involves a lot of time actively daydreaming. Problem-solving. Dreaming. It’s not aimless; it’s daydreaming actively.
III. Stop agreeing to things that drain your time and energy. It’s ok to give up something good for something great.

The author of the book, “A Year of Slowing Down: Daily Devotions for Unhurried Living, by Alan Fadling, asks a simple question at a recent silent retreat he recently attended:
“What do I want?”
You’d probably laugh at my years wrestling with this question. Happy to share. I have an answer! But at first, my answers were knee-jerk responses:
“I want to have an entire weekend to myself where I could watch all my favorite movies back to back with all my favorite snacks!“
Which is not a wrong answer. But that’s not only what the question asks. It asks that I go deeper into the part of me I may have silenced.
Sit with this question. Be honest with your answers. It should draw you closer to God’s unique answer for you. You may find that what you want is not what you really want.
Thoughts on Holy Week from the brilliant Henri Nouwen’s book, “In the Name of Jesus; Reflections on Christian Leadership,
“The way of the Christian leader is not the way of upward mobility in which our world has invested so much, but the way of downward mobility ending on the cross….to those who have heard the voice of first love and said yes to it, the down-ward moving way of Jesus is the way to joy and the peace of God, a joy and peace that is not of this world.”
1 Thought to consider
Jesus went to the cross on purpose, for a purpose. He gave his life so that everyone could experience a new life. How can you this week can you spend time in prayer and remembrance for this beautiful offering? ✝️
