As the band starts to play and the spotlight shines brightly, fear grips me tightly. For years, stage fright made each performance a battle against my doubts and insecurities.

These panic attacks were more than just sweaty palms and racing heartbeats—they were rooted in a belief that I was an imposter, destined to be exposed. But amidst the insecurities, a sliver of light guided me towards the realization that God delights in me, even in my weaknesses and imperfections (Zephaniah 3:17).

With the help of a therapist, I began to unravel the tangled web of my fears. I realized my anxiety stemmed from deep-seated feelings of never being good enough. This perspective seeped into my soul, shaping my self-perception without me even realizing it. Yet within me, glimmers of joy in leading worship songs refused to be extinguished. These glimmers reminded me of God’s love and compassion, filling my heart with gratitude and joy.

On the other hand, triggers ignited strong emotional reactions—anger, fear, sadness. However, I discovered that triggers could be transformed into beautiful glimmers, serving as catalysts for growth. Emotions, the threads that weave the tapestry of our lives, hold immense power. They can act as triggers, setting off a chain reaction within us, or as glimmers, filling our hearts with joy and contentment.

I hold the option to release myself from enormous expectations and embark on a journey of curiosity to live authentically well. I reflect on my habits, identifying those that serve me and those that hold me back.

“God wants to partner with you in the deep transformation of your heart. It will not be quick, but it will be better than you’ve imagined.” -Dr. Charity Byers, author of *The Unhindered Life*

I pray that each steps brings growth, empowerment, and the transcendence of boundaries that have held us back. The spotlight awaits, my friends. It’s time for us to shine like never before. 🦋

1. Reflect on a time when you felt like an imposter. What self-limiting beliefs or negative words have influenced your perception of yourself? How can you challenge and overcome them?

2. What are some glimmers in your life? Think of moments or experiences that bring you joy and contentment. How can you intentionally cultivate more of these in your daily life?
