✨SURROUNDED SATURDAY ✨ One of the top three quest ✨SURROUNDED SATURDAY ✨
One of the top three questions I get about Surrounded is: Why that name?
Because it means two things.
Sometimes life has you feeling surrounded—by fear, grief, questions, all the things you didn’t see coming.
But Psalm 139 reminded me of another kind of surrounded: God is already there. Before me. Behind me. With me.
And that became the center of gravity for this whole book:
We can be fearful and faithful. When we don’t know what to do we pray, first. It’s how we hold both and can be confident that God’s presence meets there.
Yes, you may be surrounded by some things today…but you are also surrounded by people he power and presence of God🦋
That changes everything.
Save or share this post for when you need a reminder🤲🏾

✨ Sometimes the best thoughts come from a typo.😌 ✨ Sometimes the best thoughts come from a typo.😌
I was recording a voice memo when my phone transcribed this:
“Her eyes are on You.”
I meant to say, “Our eyes are on You.” But I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Because maybe that’s the prayer for this week.
For the woman lying awake at 3 a.m.
For the mom navigating a new season.
For the one carrying the weight of work, family, finances, or the unknown.
There is so much pulling for our attention. So much inviting us to look to the right or to the left.
But today, I want to pray something different:
Lord, may her eyes stay on You. 🤍
Not because everything is easy.
Not because she has all the answers.
But because Your presence is steady, even when life isn’t.

Some days your spirit already knows the truth—while your mind is still trying to catch up. Especially on the days it’s hard to believe God is fighting for you. That’s real life.
I wrote this prayer during one of those seasons—when I needed to remember that the battle wasn’t mine to carry.
Maybe you need this reminder today.
“Lord, I don’t have the power, but I know You do.”
“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
—2 Chronicles 20:12
Take a deep breath. Read this prayer. Then lift your eyes back to the One who goes before you.
If this prayer is for you, leave a 🦋 so I can pray for you this week.

SURROUNDED SATURDAY🦋 Saturday has me a little per SURROUNDED SATURDAY🦋
Saturday has me a little perplexed. Things aren’t going quite as we hoped.
Isn’t that just like life? Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, a wave 🌊 rolls in and shifts the sand under your feet.
That’s why I keep coming back to one sentence from Jehoshaphat’s prayer. It’s changed the way I pray whenever life doesn’t look the way I thought it would.
“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

I chatted with a dear friend the other day, and sh I chatted with a dear friend the other day, and she quietly said, “I’ve done all I can do here.”
I nodded, thanked her for her courage, and reminded her that sometimes simply showing up is enough.
Maybe you’ve never said those words out loud, but your heart has whispered them.
You’re tired of carrying the battle on your shoulders.
You’ve prayed the prayers.
You’ve done everything you know to do.
And you’re still waiting.
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply tell God the truth.
So today, take a breath.
Pause.
Let His love meet you right where you are.
It’s okay to worship while you wait.
It’s okay to praise before the breakthrough.
It’s okay to trust God with what you cannot control.
I’ve learned that God’s greatest work often happens not when life is easy, but in the seasons when we don’t know what to do.
His presence in the middle of the battle changes everything.
🙏🏾Today, don’t focus on the whole journey. Just ask God for the strength to take one faithful step.
✨ If this prayer is for you, leave a 🕯️ in the comments, and let’s pray for one another.

A few Surrounded moments from June. 🦋
Peru reminded me that God renews, restores, refines, and surprises. He sees beyond our capacity into a deeper, richer purpose. That’s His business. 🙌🏾
June was a whirlwind, but I’m grateful for every story and every reminder that when I don’t know what to do, there’s always a place I can go.
🤍 Where did you see God’s faithfulness this month? I’d love to hear your story 🫶🏾

Take a beat today🙏🏾🙏🏾 As we walk out this life o Take a beat today🙏🏾🙏🏾
As we walk out this life of trust we can hit a wall…it’s a place where our strength runs out, our energy is drained and our courage slips away. We realize that in our own strength we cannot fix this.
It’s an act of courage to give yourself time to invite God’s presence and wait before your next move. We enter this place not knowing everything and that’s where the release happens. “ We become less afraid of being afraid.”
Waiting is courageous trust. We have to go through the wall to get through the wall.
Where there is a war in your soul let this reminder be your ceasefire. 🦋

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve held on to words t If you’ve ever felt like you’ve held on to words that wounded you: a guilt about the past that made you want to hide. You’re not alone. One thing I’ve learned is hiding does no good.
Hiding doesn’t heal.
That doesn’t mean that on the hard days, those voices don’t want to take over.
But it does mean that my worth and purpose are not hidden in those words, but in the love of Jesus. The truth of His love is always greater than my own truth.
This week try this: name those sneaky lies and ask yourself “what does God actually say about me?” Receive that love. Walk in it. Soak it in. Thank God for that love.
Keep moving forward even if it feels
unfinished.
Share this with someone who needs it today. Our save it as a reminder to let God’s voice be the loudest. 🦋
